Glucose Test & 25 Weeks!!

So I had my glucose test this week. Oh my was it horrible.  I was not too nervous for it, but it was one big thing I was hoping to cross off my list.  I didn't want to have to do the 3 hour test, or diet, but I want of course to do what's best for my babies.  I had a 1 hour test, no fasting required.  It was supposed to be at 11:00 in the morning, but my doctor had to go deliver a baby.  So it was pushed back to 1:30.  I was worried about this since I was going to have eaten lunch too before going.

I had 5 minutes to drink this orange little cocktail.  I was fine until June, the assistant said, "You'll be fine as long as you don't puke." That was all I could think about doing after she said that! ha ha.  And hour later I had my blood drawn and had to wait till the next day for the results.

My doctor called me himself to let me know the results. Mama passed!!  It was so great to hear, I was worried since I had PCOS, and have been borderline diabetic before my pregnancy that the twins would have pushed me over the point where I got gestational diabetes.  The doctor did let me know that I need more iron.  So besides my daily multi-vitamin, I will need to take more iron too.

How far along: 25 weeks

Size of babies: Eggplant - "Let your spouse put an ear to your belly -- he might be able to pick up baby's heartbeat (no stethoscope required). Inside the womb, the formation of tiny capillaries is giving baby a healthy pink glow. Baby's also soaking up your antibodies, getting the immune system ready for life outside the womb. Eyes are forming, and baby will soon perfect the blink -- perfect for batting those freshly grown lashes. "

Maternity clothes: It's amazing how many old shirts still stretch to fit my belly! :)  I figure who cares if they get stretched out now, because they will be old and I will want to new clothes anyway!!

Sleep: I got a head cold earlier in the week, and that messed everything up more.  I already wake up multiple times to go to the washroom, but with the cold it's so much worse.  I didn't get any sleep on Tuesday, and ended up having to call in sick on Wednesday.  I was already off on Thursday, so I was able to get some much needed rest.

Best moment of the previous week: Even though it was part of my worst moment too, the glucose test was the best part.  Right after I drank the "orange" cocktail, my babies turned into jumping beans.  They moved around so much, you could see my belly dance around with them.  It brought mama so much joy!!!

Movement: Finally YES!  I have some jammin' babies!

Symptoms: Tuesday was horrible, I opened as normal at work, and by lunch time my feet were so swollen.  It freaked out my mother and mother-in-law very much.  I was able to put my feet up for most of the day after that and they did go down a bit... but the next morning were still a bit swollen.  I hope they never get as bad as they were on Tuesday again, but I have a feeling they will.  I am tried, but that is expected since I am carrying twins and working full-time.

Food cravings/aversions: I am not sure I am craving anything too much.  I am always hungry! So anything which is healthy I love!

What I miss: I read something funny which Tori Spelling wrote Pregnant thought of the day, "I miss seeing my lady parts.  I like to check in with her once in awhile."  So true!!

What I am looking forward to: I love my High Risk appointments, I get to learn so much about my babies!  My next one is on the 26th, it's a growth appointment.  I am super excited to here about them!!

Weekly wisdom: There is never enough time.
